Education Action in Crisis (EAC) Fraud Policy

Education Action in Crisis (EAC) is committed to preventing and detecting fraud. Fraud is defined as any intentional deception or misrepresentation that is used to deprive the EAC of its assets or resources.

This policy applies to all employees, volunteers, and contractors of the EAC. It also applies to all EAC programs, services, and activities.

Responsibilities

  • It is the responsibility of all employees, volunteers, and contractors to be aware of the EAC's fraud policy and to report any suspected fraud to their supervisor or to the EAC Human Resources department.

  • Supervisors have a responsibility to create a culture of honesty and integrity in their work environment and to take appropriate action when they become aware of suspected fraud.

  • The EAC Human Resources department is responsible for investigating all suspected fraud and for taking appropriate disciplinary action against those who are found to have committed fraud.

Prevention

The EAC has implemented a number of fraud prevention measures, including:

  • A strong internal control system

  • Regular audits

  • Employee training on fraud prevention

  • A hotline for reporting suspected fraud

Reporting

If you suspect that fraud has occurred, you should immediately report it to your supervisor or to the EAC Human Resources department. You may also report fraud anonymously by calling the EAC fraud hotline.

Disciplinary Action

The EAC takes fraud very seriously. Any employee, volunteer, or contractor who is found to have committed fraud will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Confidentiality

The EAC will maintain the confidentiality of all reports of suspected fraud. Only those who need to know about the investigation will be informed.
