Human Rights

Human rights are the basic rights and freedoms that belong to every person in the world, from birth until death.

They apply regardless of where you are from, what you believe or how you choose to live your life. Human rights are about being treated with dignity and respect. They are about being able to make your own choices and to have control over your own life.

There are many things that we can do to protect human rights. Educating ourselves about human rights and talk to others about them is the one of the roles Education Action Crisis seek to do.

Rule of Law

Civic education is the process of teaching people about their rights and responsibilities as citizens.

It is an important part of a healthy democracy, and it helps to ensure that all citizens have a voice in their government. Civic Education is the basis of understanding rule of law and human rights.

At EAC, we want to:

• help people to understand the political system and how it works.

• teach people about their rights and responsibilities as citizens.

• encourage people to participate in civic life.

• help to build a more informed and engaged citizenry.

• help to reduce political apathy and cynicism.

Understanding rule of law through Civic education is an important investment in the future of our democracy.

Gender Based Violence

GBV is rooted in gender inequality and harmful social norms that view women as inferior to men. It is often used as a way to control and dominate women. GBV can have devastating consequences for women's health, well-being, and economic opportunities. It can also lead to social isolation, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

There are many things that EAC aim to achieve in order to to prevent GBV. These include:

• Raising awareness about GBV and its negative consequences

• Changing harmful social norms that perpetuate gender inequality

• Providing support services for survivors of GBV

• Holding perpetrators accountable for their actions

We must all work together to end GBV and create a world where all women and girls are safe and free from violence.

Community Cohesion

Community cohesion is a sense of belonging and common identity that exists within a community. It is characterized by a willingness to work together and a shared commitment to the community's well-being. Community cohesion can be fostered through a variety of activities, such as community events, volunteerism, and interfaith dialogue.

There are many benefits to community cohesion. It can lead to a more peaceful and harmonious community, a stronger sense of identity, and increased opportunities for economic development. Community cohesion can also help to reduce crime and social isolation.

EAC aim at achieving the following:-

• Encouraging people to get involved in their community

• Creating opportunities for people to meet and interact with each other

• Promoting understanding and respect for diversity

• Addressing issues of inequality and discrimination

Community cohesion is essential for building strong and resilient communities. By working together, we can create a more inclusive and welcoming society for all.

Early & Forced Marriage

Early and forced marriage are human rights violations that have serious consequences for girls and women. They are harmful practices that robs girls of their childhood, education, and opportunities. Early and forced marriage can lead to a number of dangers, including:

• Health risks: Girls who are married early are more likely to experience complications during pregnancy and childbirth, including maternal death. They are also more likely to contract sexually transmitted infections, including HIV/AIDS.

• Education and employment: Girls who are married early are more likely to drop out of school and to be denied employment opportunities. This can lead to poverty and a lifetime of disadvantage.

• Violence: Girls who are married early are more likely to experience violence, including physical, sexual, and emotional abuse.

• Inequality: Early and forced marriage perpetuates gender inequality and reinforces the idea that girls are less valuable than boys.

Early and forced marriage are serious problems that needs to be addressed. There are a number of things that EAC want to do to help end these harmful practices, including:

• Education: Raising awareness of the dangers of early and forced marriage is essential. We want to sensitize through education programs, public awareness campaigns, and the media.

• Support for girls and young women: EAC aim to provide support to girls and women who are at risk of early and forced marriage. This support include education, counseling, and legal assistance.

Girlchild Education

Girlchild education is the process of educating girls and young women. It is important for girlchild education to be accessible, affordable, and of high quality. It is an important part of gender equality, and it helps to ensure that all girls and young women have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Education Action in Crisis want to:

• help girls and young women to develop their knowledge and skills.

• empowers girls and young women to make their own decisions and to take control of their lives.

• help girls and young women to earn a living and to support themselves.

Girlchild education is an investment in the future. By educating girls and young women, we can help to create a more prosperous, peaceful, and just world.

Self-Reliance

EAC aim to help our people learn how to take care of themselves, make their own decisions, and solve their own problems. And not to be afraid to take risks or to stand up for what they believe in.

As responsible citizens, they are also more likely to be able to cope with challenges and to bounce back from setbacks.

Self-reliance is a valuable quality that can help citizens to live a happy, successful, and fulfilling life.
