Heat Waves Emergency Management for Humanitarian Workers

This course is designed to equip mid-level to senior-level humanitarian workers with the knowledge, skills, and competencies to effectively manage heatwave emergencies in humanitarian settings. The course will cover the principles of heatwave emergency management, risk assessment, preparedness, response, and recovery.

What you’ll learn

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

• Understand the principles of heatwave emergency management and its importance in humanitarian settings

• Conduct heatwave risk assessments and develop preparedness plans

• Respond effectively to heatwave emergencies, including medical response, water and sanitation, and shelter management

• Support recovery and rehabilitation efforts, including addressing the psycho-social impact and rebuilding infrastructure

• Apply heatwave emergency management principles in different humanitarian settings, including urban and rural areas, conflict and post-conflict settings, and natural disaster-affected areas.
